Power supply disruption

KOCHI: Owing to maintenance work, power supply in the following areas will be disrupted between 9.30 a. m. and 5 p. m. on Sunday. The places are Press Club Road, Park Avenue Road, TD Road, Convent Junction and the Government Hospital area. - Staff Reporter

Appointed I-T Commissioner

KOCHI: Susy B. Varghese has been appointed Income Tax Commissioner in Kochi. She was an additional commissioner in the Indian Revenue Service. Prior to this, she was a lecturer in many colleges in Kerala. She joined IRS in 1986.

Oriya association

formed

KOCHI: People from Orissa, living in Kochi, have formed Utkalika - a Cochin Oriya Association. The aim is to promote socio-cultural activities for national integration. The first official function of the association will be held at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Auditorium, TD Road, on Sunday evening. For details, call 2400341 or 2722709.
