People can call the toll free number: 4058 A staff nurse in the PHC will contact ambulance driver in the event of any emergency
Krishnagiri: The district administration has acquired ten ambulances under the Tamil Nadu Health System Project (TNHSP) at an estimate of Rs.50 lakh. The district administration has announced the list of phone numbers for availing ambulance services in rural areas. Krishnagiri - 94422 04850, Veppanapalli - 94422 04851, Mathur - 94422 04852, Uthangarai - 94422 04853, Kelamangalam - 94422 04854, Thally - 94422 04855, Bargur 94422 - 04856, Shoolagiri - 94422 04857, Hosur - 94422 04858 and Kaveripattinam 94422 04859. While the service would be provided free of cost to families below the poverty line (BPL) Rs.5 per km would be charged from others. People could call the toll free number: 4058 to avail the service from any part of the district. The ambulance would transport the patient to the nearest PHC without any delay. A staff nurse in the PHC would contact the ambulance driver in the event of any emergency. Videoconferencing facility had also been set up at the office of the Deputy Director of Health Services to monitor the movement of the vehicles a release said.
