Madurai: An all-round performance by Balaji (81 not out and four for 30) and five for 40 by Senthilvel helped KKRC Cricket Club chalk out a six-wicket victory over Pykara Star Cricket Club in the MDCA first division `B' zone league at Madura College ground here on Sunday.

The scores (First division `B' zone): Pykara Star CC 189 in 37.3 overs (Sureshrajan 78, Senthilvel five for 40, Balaji four for 30) lost to KKRC CC 192 for four in 41.3 overs (Balaji 81 not out).

Second division: Fanatic CC 167 in 27.3 overs (Karthick 50 not out) lost to Stalwarts CC 169 for five in 23.1 overs (Manimaran 51 not out).

Lessle shines

Lessle Charles's 67 helped KLN College of Engineering `A' defeat Vikram College of Engineering by four wickets and enter the semi-finals of the K.L.N. Krishnan memorial Trophy State-level inter-engineering college cricket tournament at KLNCE ground, Pottapalayam near Madurai on Sunday.

The scores (Quarterfinals): KLN CE `A' 160 for eight in 20 overs (Lessle Charles 67) bt Vikram College of Engineering 53 for six in 20 overs (Nazir four for 14).

Pandyan Saraswathy Yadava Engg. College 106 in 20 overs (Raj Bharath four for 22) bt KLN CIT 102 in 20 overs.

Alagappa Chettiar College of Engg. Karaikudi 79 in 20 overs lost to Sethu Institute of Technology, Kariapatti 81 for three in 11.2 overs; KLN CE `B' 65 in 19.4 overs lost to Sudharsan College of Engg. Pudukottai 66 for three in 10.2 overs.

Gopi scalps 5 wkts.

Medium pacer B. Gopi's five for nine helped St. Peter's Cricket Club, Kodaikanal carve out an emphatic nine-wicket victory over RVS Sports Club in the Dindigul District Cricket Association `A' division league at G.T.N. ground, Dindigul, on Sunday.

The scores: RVS Sports Club 36 in 16.1 overs (B. Gopi five for nine) lost to St. Peter's CC 37 for one in 4.5 overs.

Brace by Jeinson

A brace by Jeinson and one goal by Kumaravel helped High Court Football Club post a 3-1 victory over Senthil Kumar memorial Football Club in the M.D.F.A. `B' division league for Hi-Tech Arai Trophy at D'Nobili MHSS ground, Madurai on Sunday.

The results: High Court FC 3 (Jeinson 2, Kumaravel) bt Senthil Kumar memorial FC 1 (Vigayaraghavan).
