KADAPA: Alleging that a doctor's negligence caused the death of three-year-old infant Ayesha, her parents and relatives staged a dharna along with the body before Balasivayogi Hospital in Nagarajupet here late on Saturday night. They damaged glass panes of the hospital doors and windows and a doctor's car. Ayesha was admitted with high fever in the hospital and Dr. Nagendra Prasad confirmed that the girl suffered from brain fever. The doctor performed some tests and told them that she was out of danger, but she died a few minutes later, the protesters alleged. The parents and relatives squatted on the road along with the body and disrupted traffic despite efforts of the police to pacify them. S.A. Khaleel Basha, former MLA, and Chinna Chowk Circle Inspector Nagaraju rushed to the hospital. The issue was settled around 1 a.m. with the doctor agreeing to pay monetary compensation to Ayesha's parents.
