CBI lays trap on information from civil contractor

NEW DELHI: The Central Bureau of Investigation arrested on Sunday the Chairman-cum-Managing Director of Hindustan Salts Limited and a tout on the charge of accepting a bribe of Rs. 50,000 from a civil contractor to clear bills worth Rs. 34.5 lakh for the work he had already completed.

The Jaipur division of the CBI received a complaint from a contractor alleging that the CMD of the Government of India undertaking Hindustan Salts Limited, was demanding Rs. 1 lakh to clear bills for the work done last year.
