BANGALORE: The fast-paced urbanisation and over crowding of Bangalore is taking a toll on our lives like never before. The stress of commuting, pollution, and work pressure can leave anybody in the city wanting. Scrambling for space, clean air and greenery, the distraught city dweller has started looking outwards as a solution to city's woes. The Bangalorean today treasures his weekend. It is his precious time to unwind, de-stress and rejuvenate. And how does he do that? Of course, by getting away from all the madness. Driving out of the city for some adventure sports, team-building activities, in a rural setting or just staying to relax in a farmhouse surrounded by trees and greenery. Farm stay and adventure sports have become the new buzzwords in today's corporate circles. To cater to the stressed out Bangalorean, many resorts have come up a few km away from the city. Farmhouses are there too, to let him/her relax, unwind and retreat into. From resorts and gated properties, the options are increasing for the Bangalorean. Many of the farmhouses are surrounded by fruit trees and plantations. There is one such place near Mekkedatu off Kanakpura road. Located on the banks of the Cauvery, the place is deliberately left without electricity to retain the rustic feel. It provides time to go fishing and trekking. Most of the resorts and farms offer activities such as rock climbing, rappelling, cycling and trekking.
