A MILESTONE: Children at the graduation ceremony organised by Ryan International School, Kundalahalli.
BANGALORE: Mitra Academy bade a farewell to the first batch of Class X students at a function organised recently. Retired director of All India Radio Krishnamurthy was the chief guest. Urging them to uphold the values taught at school, he recalled his school days and said that they were the best in his life. He told the students to make the best use of opportunities and lauded the school for providing quality education.
Graduation day
The children dressed in their graduation robe collected the certificates from the guests. The ceremony was held in two sessions, both having started with the Bible reading by principal Cynthia D followed by the prayer by managing director Snehal Kundar. Sanjeev Sahi, Director of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited was the chief guest at the first session. MLC V. R. Sudarshan, MLC R.V. Venkatesh, R.K. Mattoo, Chief of Bureau of Indian Express, fashion designer Deepti Rai were the special guests. They gave away graduation certificates to the tiny tots. Former Lokayukta N. Venkatachala was the chief guest at the second session, while former minister Rani Satish, MLC Krishnappa, corporator Jyothiprakash, theatre personality Vandita, commercial artist Ushma Gajaria, danseuse Usha Datar were the special guests. The sessions were interspersed with the presentation of dances by the children.
Saraswathi puja
The students then positioned themselves in Aditya (Sun) formation. The girls dressed in white saris formed the sun, while the boys, in white sherwanis, formed the rays of the sun. "Chanting the name of Aditya will help drive away all our enemies, will make us victorious, and will bring happiness to our lives," said headmistress Kasturi Parthasarathy. The principal distributed mementoes and certificates to the students. Ms. Kasturi provided tips to the students on the public examination.
Valedictory function
He told the students to develop a hunger for knowledge, hard work and punctuality that are needed to lead a successful life. Students shared their experiences at school and conveyed their gratitude to the mentors.
