Chakrapani all set to head Council

HYDERABAD:
Veteran Congress leader and APCC vice-president A. Chakrapani is all set to be elected Chairman of the Legislative Council on Tuesday.
Nine sets of nominations were filed on behalf of Mr. Chakrapani after pro-tem Chairman Puvvada Nageswara Rao announced the schedule for nominations for the post of Chairman on Monday. No other nomination was filed before 5 p.m. paving way for the election of Mr. Chakrapani unopposed.
Mr. Chakrapani was elected to the Council for the first time in 1976. He served in the post till the Council was abolished in 1985.
He authored a book `Second chamber of Legislature - a must' which was released in New Delhi recently.
