New tsunami housing list

First list of allottees in Nochi Kuppam and Nochi Nagar cancelled

CHENNAI : The first list of allottees for permanent shelters in Nochi Kuppam and Nochi Nagar as part of the tsunami-rehabilitation process has been cancelled and a new list prepared.

The list was prepared taking into account the zonal office census of houses lost to the tsunami and the petitions given by the residents to the Collectorate.

The new list has been put up for public viewing at the Chennai Collectorate, the Tahsildar's Office for Mylapore-Triplicane Taluk, the Corporation Zone 10 office at Lattice Bridge Road, Adyar, the Ward Office for Ward 145 at 4, Kamaraj Salai, the D5 Police Station on Marina Beach, the E1 Police Station in Mylapore and the Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board on Kamarajar Salai.

Written complaints

If names have not found place in the list or if there are disputes regarding names on the list, written complaints with documents of proof should be sent to the Chennai Collectorate or the Tahsildar's Office for Mylapore-Triplicane Taluk before Saturday.

The complaints would be taken into account for preparing the final list, according to a press release.
