KADAPA: EMRI's free `108' ambulance service is responding promptly to phone calls of patients and transporting them to hospitals, District Revenue Officer G. Joshi Babu said on Tuesday. The ambulances were reaching required places within 10 minutes of receiving a phone call, putting patients on life-saving gadgets and saving lives, he said after inaugurating a 108 emergency ambulance in old RIMS hospital here. Chief supervisor of 108 ambulance service Syed Aleem said the ambulance had been working in Kadapa for a year and had transported 1,020 patients to hospitals, including 210 critically ill cases. Fifteen staff members were working and three staff members accompanied each ambulance. Patients were checked for blood pressure and diabetes. Those in critical conditions were put on ventilator and oxygen.
