RITUAL: Women taking out a "Kalashayatra" in Hubli on Tuesday as part of the "Srimad Bhagavat Katha Jnanayagna Mahotsava".
HUBLI: Scores of women took part in the "Kalashayatra" and "Shobhayatra" held as part of the inauguration of the "Srimad Bhagavat Katha Jnanayagna Mahotsava" here on Tuesday. The "Kalashayatra" began from the Sri Krishna Kalyan Mantap in Deshpande Nagar and after passing through main roads of the area concluded at the Hubli Sports Ground, where the weeklong Mahotsav would be conducted by Sri Mrudulkrishnaji Maharaj of Vrindavan. As many as eight communities have come together to organise the "Bhagavat Katha Jnanayagna Mahotsava" that will go on till April 10. On Tuesday, women belonging to Gujarati Samaj, Patidar Samaj, Agrawal Samaj, Punjabi Samaj, Maheshwari Samaj, Rajasthan Brahim Samaj, Sindhi Samaj and Ramdev Seva Samiti carried the "kalashas". Children and men took part in the procession singing devotional songs. Sri Mrudulkrishna Maharaj of Vrindavan, who will be conducting the "Jnanayagna", was taken in a procession to the venue of the event in a decorated vehicle. As many as 2,000 persons from Dharwad and neighbouring districts are expected to participate in the event daily. Sri Murgharajendra Sharanaru of Brihan Math, Chitradurga will take part in the Mahotsava on Wednesday to hold "Sahaja Shivayoga Shibira".
