P. S. Suryanarayana
SINGAPORE: Thailand's Prime Minister Surayud Chulanont on Tuesday said the coup leaders would be able to "pin down" the deposed leader, Thaksin Shinawatra, on corruption charges. Speaking in Tokyo, after signing a free trade agreement with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Mr. Surayud said the Council for National Security (CNS), the Thai junta, had now gathered "all the evidence." He said Mr. Thaksin had, while in power, tried twice to "hide his assets" and the "final straw" was the manner in which he and his family had sold a mega firm to Singapore's Temasek.
