MUMBAI:
The stock markets partially recovered from the devastating impact of the Reserve Bank of India's rate hikes and the Sensex gained 169 points on Tuesday on emergence of buying support from foreign funds on the back of firm Asian cues.
The BSE 30-share index opened firm at 12503.75 and gradually moved upwards to the intra-day high of 12657.75. It later ended at 12624.58, a net rise of 169.21 points or 1.36 per cent over Monday's close of 12455.37.
Similarly, the S&P CNX Nifty of the National Stock Exchange rose 57.05 points or 1.57 per cent to close at 3690.65 from 3633.60. PTI
