VIZIANAGARAM: Collector B. Kishore has released the annual credit plan with an outlay of Rs. 830 crores for the fiscal 2007-08 at the district consultative committee meeting. Speaking on the occasion, he said that this was Rs. 118 crores more than last year's plan. He said Rs. 627 crores was allocated for agriculture sector (kharif: Rs. 293 crores, rabi: Rs. 97 crores, farm loans: Rs. 96 crores and other allied activities such as dairy, poultry and sheep rearing Rs. 141 crores). He said that Rs. 20.07 crores was allocated for 19,241 farmers who had not availed credit facility.
Special plan
A special plan for developing small and marginal industries with Rs. 25 crores was also prepared, he said and added that bank linkage for SHGs would be Rs. 210 crores. The Collector thanked bankers and officials for providing Rs. 195.16 crores bank linkage against the target of Rs. 189 crores last year. The Collector asked Andhr Pradesh Grameena Vikas Bank to adopt two villages under each of its branch and encourage villagers to open accounts. S.D.P. Sarma, Assistant General Manager of NABARD, said that an action plan was being prepared for developing assigned lands to raise horticulture crops. Lead Bank Manager B. Satyanarayana said the credit target achieved till March was 89.88 per cent and deposits Rs.1,248 crores till December. DCCB General Manager G. Simhachalam, General Manager, DIC, B. Gopala Krishna and others were present.
