KOLKATA: Mohammedan Sporting stunned title aspirants Dempo of Goa 3-2 in an 11th round match of the National Football League for the ONGC Cup at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Tuesday. Nigerian Eric Bolwe Mputu put in a Jatin Bisht corner to give Mohammedan Sporting the lead in the fifth minute The host doubled the lead in the 49th minute when its Liberian striker Preston Papai Corporal scored off a Mir Faroq Haider cross. Dempo pulled one back in the 63rd minute when substitute Joaquim Abranches headed home a Roberto Silva free-kick. Mohammedan Sporting continued to attack on the breaks and re-established the two-goal buffer. Preston scored again to make it 3-1 in the 78th minute. Ranti Martins helped Dempo reduce the margin again in the injury-time. - Principal Correspondent
