KADAPA: Praja Patham programme will be implemented in three phases from April 14 to May 9, District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu said on Tuesday. Mitigating drinking water scarcity, issuing ration cards, pensions and other pending problems should be resolved before launch of Praja Patham, he told a meeting with officials here. The first phase would be implemented from April 14 to 21, second phase from April 23 to 30 and the third phase from May 2 to 9. Though Kadapa district has five-and-half lakh families, 7.20 lakh ration cards were issued, Mr. Krishna Babu noted. Special emphasis would be laid on visiting SC, ST and BC hostels, drinking water supply, seven-hour power supply, Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and Indira Kranti Patham.
Officials must ascertain if assigned lands were in possession of allotted beneficiaries, he instructed. Atrocities on SC/STs and untouchability should be discussed in Praja Patham.
Low-interest loans
The Government decided to form groups of white ration cardholders and extend `pavala vaddi' scheme to them, the Collector said. New groups should be formed besides reviving old ones. A Rs. 49.60-crore plan was formulated for dairy development this year.
Sheep-rearers would be extended assistance of Rs. 20 crores and each women beneficiary would be sanctioned Rs. 39,500.
Sixty Gopala Mitra groups would be formed with an outlay of Rs. 5 crores through JJ Trust, he said. Bulk cooling units will be set up in 40 mandals in Kadapa. Sanction of bridge loans of Rs. 10,000 should be monitored.
He promised sanction of houses to remaining beneficiaries in Indiramma first phase.
