He was addressing a function after receiving keys of 307 houses and multipurpose disaster shelter constructed by Church's Auxiliary for Social Action (CASA) at Thoduvai near Sirkazhi on Tuesday.

The Government had entrusted the task of constructing 18,220 permanent houses to 48 non-governmental organisations and provided land free of cost at 76 places. So far 8,966 houses had been handed over to the beneficiaries.

As many as 88,011 families would get health insurance cover under Prime Minister's Health Insurance Scheme, Mr. Jawahar said. About 62,000 families had so far been identified in 73 villages and photos were taken.
