Special trains from Dadar to clear heavy rush

Weekly trains to operate between April 4 and July 2

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Railways will operate weekly special trains from Dadar via Konkan Railway to Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram Central from April 4 to July 2 to clear the heavy rush of passengers.

The 0165 Dadar-Ernakulam special train will leave from Dadar at 12.45 p.m. every Wednesday to reach Ernakulam at 3.45 p.m. the next day. The 0165 special train will run every Wednesday from April 4 to June 27, according to a Southern Railway release.

In the return direction, the 0166 special train will leave Ernakulam at 7.45 p.m. every Thursday to reach Dadar the next day at 11.55 p.m.

The services of the 0166 will be on every Thursday from April 5 to June 28.

The 0167 Dadar-Thiruvananthapuram special train will leave Dadar at 12.45 p.m. on every Saturday to reach Thiruvananthapuram at 9 p.m. the next day. The 0167 will operate every Saturday from April 7 to June 30.

The 0168 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Dadar special train will leave Thiruvananthapuram Central at 8.50 a.m. on all Monday to reach Dadar the next day at 4 p.m.

The 0168 will operate every Monday from April 9 to July 2, according to the railway sources.

The 0165, 0166, 0167 and 0168 special trains will halt at Thane, Roha, Chiplun, Ratnagiri, Kankavali, Kudal, Swantwadi Road, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon, Karwar, Ankola, Kumtha, Honnavar, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Surathkal, Kankanadi, Kasaragod, Kanhangad, Payyanur, Kannur, Thalassery, Mahe, Vadagara, Koyilandy, Kozhikode, Tirur, Kuttipuram, Shornur, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam.

The 0167 and 0168 will halt at Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur and Kollam.

Advance reservation for the special trains have already started.
