NEW DELHI: The Delhi State Election Commission has issued show cause notices to 35 political parties and two sitting MLAs for violating poll norms after receiving complaints against them in the run up to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi polls on April 5. The Commission has issued notices to two BJP MLAs Subhash Sachdev and Sahib Singh Chauhan for using their letterheads to promote their party's candidates in the municipal polls, Delhi State Election Commissioner S P Marwah told reporters on Tuesday. ``We have taken note of the violation and action would be initiated against them soon,'' he said. The commission has also taken a serious note of religious symbols being used during campaigning and action will be taken against them. A total of 105 complaints have been forwarded to Delhi police and MCD for action, while 76 complaints have been forwarded to the observers and Returning Officers for violation. ``This time the commission has maximum note of telephonic complaints and action has been initiated in such cases,'' Mr. Marwah said.- PTI
