Chargesheet filed against MCD official
New Delhi:
CBI on Tuesday filed a chargesheet in a two-year-old disproportionate assets case against an MCD engineer.
The chargesheet was filed in the court of the Special Judge against Brij Pal Singh, an Executive Engineer posted at MCD's office in Yamuna Vihar at the Shahdara (North Zone) for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, for which he cannot satisfactorily account for.
It accuses him of possessing seven immovable properties including houses and shops and three vehicles. It is alleged that he is learnt to have earned Rs 22,94,115 taking into consideration an expenditure of Rs 8,91,245, during his entire service span since 1979.
But he actually possessed assets worth more than Rs 1 crore 33 lakh which is highly disproportionate to his known sources of income, alleges the CBI. -- PTI
