Nominations for fifth phase begin

Lucknow: The nominations for the fifth phase of Assembly elections scheduled on April 28 in Uttar Pradesh began on Tuesday after the issuance of notification in this regard, State Election Commission sources here said.

The phase would cover 58 constituencies spread in nine districts including the State capital Lucknow, Congress chairperson Sonia Gandhi and son Rahul Gandhi's parliamentary constituencies of Raebareli and Amethi, they said.

The last date for filing and withdrawal is April 10 and 13 respectively, they said, adding the papers would be scrutinised on April 11. PTI
