Air passengers cut off from customer cell
Staff Reporter
CHENNAI
: Many Air Deccan passengers on Tuesday seemed to have had a tough time reaching its customer care service cell.
Several of them, who tried to reach the cell, were put on hold for minutes. All they got for a response was a pre-recorded voice message: "Please wait. Your call will be transferred to a customer care representative shortly."
"I tried their customer care number, their landline number at the Chennai airport, and even their Bangalore office's number mentioned on the Air Deccan's website. I was trying to retrieve a ticket I used last week, to have it reimbursed at work. Unfortunately, I got no response," said Clement Karthik employed in a private bank in Chennai.
When contacted over phone, Air Deccan (Bangalore) Corporate Communications executive Garima Mehra said the Airlines had migrated to a new reservation system and therefore, there was a change in the way information was given to customers.
"We have moved to a new web interface and hence, the problem'', she said and added that it would be attended to very soon.
