What a generous offer!

Problems in the area where you live? Just complain to BDA Commissioner M.K. Shankaralinge Gowda. He has a generous exchange offer on cards — BDA sites in developed layouts.

At a function held to inaugurate a main road in HSR Layout, a resident asked him when roads on the other side would be asphalted.

"While asphalting the main road, they damaged all the other roads. So I asked them for a time frame within which these roads would be finished," Gracie Elizabeth told The Hindu. She also complained about the garbage problem in her area and the lack of a sewage network.

Mr. Gowda apparently gave the usual officialese that the problem would be addressed soon. Later, he said that if she had so many problems, she should leave the area. He then encouragingly said the BDA would be happy to give her a site elsewhere.

Mr. Gowda later said: "It was an individual request and not a community one."
