`BBMP is the culprit'

In response to the Public Eye feature on parking problems G.S. Narayanan of 4th T Block Jayanagar says: Parking has become a headache for both the police and vehicle owners. The BBMP is the culprit behind all this as it allows irregular constructions without any regard for rules and regulations because of lure of money. Occupancy Certificates are issued without a single inspection. It is not bothered about the chaos its failures cause.

The authorities should relocate educational intuitions except kindergartens from residential areas; deal with violations strictly before issuing occupancy certificates; ensure hospitals provide parking on their premises; let convention halls and marriage halls provide parking for 50 cars and 100 two-wheelers; introduce carpooling for private company employees; and encourage use of bicycles, he says.
