HYDERABAD: A youngster's alleged misbehaviour with a girl led to the killing of his father at Pahadisharrief, the police said on Tuesday.

The victim Shaik Mahboob, 52, member of Balapur village panchayat's 12th ward, was allegedly beaten to death by the girl's father and four others at his house in Quba Colony on Monday night.

The issue

Police said Rasheed allegedly behaved indecently with Masood's daughter sparking a clash between the two families. Scared of being attacked by the girl's family members, the youth fled the village.

Masood had been mounting pressure on Mahboob to call his son before local elders for a settlement but the latter never turned up, Pahadisharieff police station Inspector T. Sreenivas Reddy said. Since then, he bore grudge against the ward member.

Stabbed to death

On Tuesday, the girl's father along with four of his associates picked up an argument with Mahboob accusing him of shielding Rasheed and began beating him up. The victim's nephew tried to intervene but he too was thrashed.

The attackers dragged the ward member to a corner, stabbed him to death even as his nephew tried to fight back and fled the spot. The victim was an active leader of Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
