HYDERABAD: The 12-hour-long bandh called by the Backward Class organisations in Andhra Pradesh against the Supreme Court's staying reservations for OBCs in higher educational institutions passed off peacefully on Wednesday, barring stray incidents of violence in some parts of the State. Normal life was partially affected by the bandh that was supported by the ruling Congress and all major political parties, including the TDP, Left parties, TRS and BJP. Shops and business establishments remained closed but banks transacted business. The Government declared a holiday for educational institutions and ordered postponement of the examinations scheduled for Wednesday.
