Of trials, travails and triumphs

NEW DELHI: From a modest shop in Bombay to being honoured with Knighthood, Sir Gulam Noon has undertaken a long journey of trials, travails and triumphs.

Sir Gulam, who is also fondly called Noon, is chairman and founder of Noon Products Limited, a family business founded in 1989 specialises in frozen and chilled ready-made ethnic meals.

At "From Bombay to Buckingham Palace" organised at Jamia Millia Islamia here over the weekend, Sir Gulam shared his success with the staff and students of JMI.

At the age of 17, he took over the reigns of the family confectionery business, Royal Sweets, in the late 1950s and has spent a lifetime in the food business.
