BANGALORE: Two books in English written by Gita Mahadeva Prasad, wife of Minister for Kannada and Culture H.S. Mahadeva Prasad, and a compact disc containing songs on selected Kannada poems from her collection "Taayigagi", were released here on Wednesday. Home Minister M.P. Prakash, who released the book "Interiors," a collection of 63 short poems, said the works reflected the presence of a thinker, a philosopher and a poet in Ms. Prasad. Coming from a conservative family, she chose to express herself and the pain of losing her mother through her writing. Kannada Development Authority president and writer Siddalingaiah spoke about the book "Taayigagi," which was released last year. The poems in the book reflected the feeling of a child about a mother who was no more. This collection of sad poems would touch everybody's heart, he said. Sarvamangala J.H. Patel, wife of the former Chief Minister the late J.H. Patel, released the CD. Shivarathri Deshikendra Swami of Suttur Math released a travelogue "My visit to USA," written by Ms. Prasad about her 13-day visit to the U.S.
