Chennai: Six-time National rally champion Naren Kumar will take part in the 2007 Asia-Pacific Rally Championship, the first leg of which will begin on April 13 at New Caledonia. Sponsored by JK Tyre, Naren will represent Reece Jones Motorsports, and will drive a Mitsubishi EVO9, along with experienced navigator Ram Kumar. The team will be called `Team Rally India'. "New Zealand's Reece Jones Motorsports is a highly recognised Group N team. I am excited to see them and six-time National Rally champion N. Leelakrishnan working together, and I'm sure that we will come out with a highly potent car. This is a very good opportunity for me, and together with Ram Kumar, we are expecting a great time on the circuit," said Naren (who will also be sponsored by Star Health & Allied Insurance and Sidvin Technologies) at a press conference. "My aim is to drive to my potential. Since the first leg is quite early, we will be working on the car a little more, after that," he added. Sports Reporter
