BELLARY: K. Krishna Shastri, senior advocate and president of Bellary District Brahmins Association, died after a brief illness. He was 80. Mr. Shastri, who has put in over 50 years of service as advocate, was recently honoured by the Bellary Bar Association. He was closely associated with the Shankar Math, Vidyaranya Math at Hampi and served as the legal advisor for the Bellary branch of Sri Raghavendra Swamy Math. N.Y. Hanumanthappa, Chitradurga MP and former chief justice of Orissa High Court; R. Sridhar, vice-president of Bellary Bar Association; senior advocates and several prominent members of Brahmin community, paid their last respects.
