Of laughter, pain and frustration

"BHEJA FRY": Actor Ranvir Shorey

Taking a peek into the lives of a group of urbanites belonging to different classes and emotional backgrounds is Sunil Doshi's latest Hindi film titled "Bheja Fry".

Revolving round the endearing character of Bharat Bhushan (Vinay Pathak) and his unpredictable goof-ups, the 95-minute film also focuses on Ranjeet Thadani (Rajat Kapoor) who discovers his love for his better half Sheetal (Sarika) through a journey of laughter, pain and frustration.

Shown as an arrogant music company executive, Ranjeet finds a prize catch for a weekly bring-your-idiot talent dinner hosted by his friends and him. He ends up spending the evening with this "idiot'' Bharat Bhushan who tries to help him get his wife Sheetal back.

English, French subtitles

The film with English and French subtitles also stars talented actor Ranvir Shorey, who as Asif Merchant is shown as a committed tax officer. However, he is egoistic and always trying to pull the other person down. Shown as a music director, Milind Soman plays the character of Anant Ghoshal who assists Ranjeet in finding the whereabouts of his wife Sheetal.

While Sagar Ballary is the director, the film is from the stables of Handmade Films, a production house that aims to produce high quality films that are different, unique and have an out-of-the-box approach.

Handmade Films, which has produced Santosh Sivan's film "Navarasa" (Nine Emotions) and Rajat Kapoor's "Mixed Doubles", encourages young filmmakers who are willing to chart out a unique style of story telling.

Aimed at tickling the funny bone of film lovers, the film will soon be released at theatres across the country. -- Madhur Tankha
