Not worried, says BJP

New Delhi: Incurring the Election Commission's wrath for a CD containing controversial contents ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, the BJP on Thursday said it was not worried about the fallout.

"We are not worried about what happens next as we have no mala fide intention. We have already disowned the CD. Secondly, we believe that the Election Commission does not take ex-parte decisions. We will give our reply to it soon," BJP vice-president Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said.

He, however, alleged that the Congress, the BSP and the former Prime Minister, V.P. Singh's party were trying to stir communal passions over the video. "These so-called secular forces are trying the same tactics they had used in Gujarat post-Godhra. They failed miserably then and they will face crushing defeat again now," Mr. Naqvi remarked. — PTI
