Crime Branch to probe Kozhikode fire

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:
A special investigation team of the Crime Branch led by its Kozhikode Superintendent of Police will inquire into the fire accident on Moideen Palli Road, near S.M. Street, in Kozhikode which claimed seven lives on Thursday.
Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan told reporters here on Friday that Central Intelligence agencies, explosive and forensic experts would assist the Crime Branch in the investigation. All aspects, including the possibility of sabotage, would be probed by the investigating officials. They would also inquire whether the shops had the facility and space to store crackers and also whether norms were observed in issuing the licence, he said.
