HYDERABAD: Police investigating into the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) scam received a shot in the arm on Friday with the arrest of Sarasa Devi, believed to be the kingpin in the racket. The arrested woman, who runs an advertising agency, is being interrogated. Another accused person V. Subrahmanyam had already surrendered before the police in connection with the alleged misuse of Rs. 7.4-crore SSA funds. Investigators are trying to find out whether any other SSA officials were involved in the multi-crore scam, which took a political turn with rumours doing rounds that officials of the Chief Minister's Office were connected to it.
