TENDER CARE: Doctors examining girls with cleft lip at a free health camp organised by Anantapur Club at Anantapur on Friday.
ANANTAPUR: A team of doctors from SDM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad (Karnataka), in association with the Anantapur Club, held a free health camp for surgical correction of cleft lip and palate deformities on the club premises here on Friday. In all, 42 patients, a majority of them children, attended the camp and were examined by doctors -- A. Nagarjuna Reddy and G.R. Venu Reddy. They were all advised to attend the free surgical camp to be held in the medical college and hospital in Dharwad. The organisers took the patients to Dharwad in the evening by arranging free transportation for them. They would also be provided free boarding and lodging during their stay in Dharwad along with one attendant each, club secretary B.M. Gandhi Reddy said. Some 200 patients with cleft lip and palate deformities were benefited by the free surgical intervention offered by the medical college in association with the Anantapur Club so far.
