`Elect honest candidates'

BIJAPUR: The Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has called upon the public to elect service-oriented candidates with integrity in the ensuing civic election. Addressing a press conference here on Friday, the organisation's State consultative committee member M.J. Inamdar said of late civic bodies had become a "haven for vested interests and corrupt people". People should elect only candidates who are above caste, community and other considerations, he said. Local unit president Daval Yakeen was present.
