Indian marksmen disappoint

NEW DELHI: The Indian marksmen were below par in the rapidfire pistol event in the ongoing shooting World Cup at Fort Benning, U.S.

Ramkishan Yadav emerged the best among the Indians with a total of 572 out of 600 that placed him 20th among 46.

World champion Ralf Schumann of Germany won the gold ahead of two Chinese with a World record of 788.8.

The results: Rapidfire pistol: 1. Ralf Schumann (Ger) 788.8 (586); 2. Zhang Penghui (Chn) 787 (586); 3. Ding Feng (Chn) 784.9 (588); 20. Ramkishan Yadav 572; 26. Pemba Tamang 569; 35. Vijay Kumar 561.
