Man hacked to death in Sembium

CHENNAI
: A three-member armed gang hacked a 35-year-old man to death on Thursday night.
Police said Parthiban, who was residing near the TNHB quarters in Sembium, was a cable TV operator in the area. When he was returning home on his two-wheeler, accompanied by Moorthy (25) and Neelamegam (48), a six-member gang stopped and attacked them with deadly weapons. He died on the spot, while the others suffered injuries.
Land transaction
Preliminary inquiries revealed that Parthiban had some dispute over a land transaction with Sugumar and Venugopal of the same locality, who have been picked up for interrogation.
The body was sent to the Government General Hospital. Further investigation is on, police added.
