VISAKHAPATNAM: On a day when gusty winds, high waves and low tied provided a challenge to the sailors off the Rushikonda beach here on Saturday, Kamlesh Patel and Hemraj Dhas of Army Yachting Node, Mumbai won all the three races in group B to qualify for the finals of the third National Hobie 16 championships. Ram Kumar Singh and T. Siva of AYN, Secunderabad, were ahead in two races in pool A and made it to the final. K. Yakobu and Rajeev Kumar of Artillery Water Sports Association, Secunderabad, who won the second race, also made it to the final. There is something to cheer about for the locals as two pairs of young sailors from the Yachting Association of Visakhapatnam entered the 10-pair finals. They were K. Chinna Reddy and M. Kiran Kumar and M.A. Suresh and G. Raj Srikanth. The following have qualified for the final series of races: Ram Kumar Singh and T. Siva (AYN, Sec'bad), Kamlesh Patel and Hemraj Dhas (AYN, Mumbai), K. Yakobu and Rajeev Kumar (AWSA), Kaushal Kumar and Bikas Kumar Maiti (AWSA), Santosh P.V. and Tapan Sarkar (Corps of Engineering Sailing Club), Pawan Kumar and Umesh Pawankar (CESC), M.N. Babu and Pallav Sud (CESC), K. Chinna Reddy and M. Kiran Kumar (Yachting Association of Vizag), M.A. Suresh and G. Raj Srikanth (YAV) and T.S. Chaturvedi and V. Maruthi (AYN). Special Correspondent
