Mild tension in Jammikunta

Verbal duel between Congress, TD leaders over Babli


  • TD leaders raise slogans against Congress and also try to break placards
  • Police rushes to the spot and disperses the mob

    KARIMNAGAR: Mild tension prevailed in Jammikunta town when a verbal duel ensued between Congress and TDP leaders over the Babli project during the `Rythu Chaitanya Yatra' conducted by TDP president and former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday.

    District Congress Committee leaders and hundreds of party workers carried placards and covered their mouths with black cloth in protest against the `yatra' of the TDP president. When Mr. Naidu's convoy reached the protestors, the TDP leaders raised slogans against the Congress and tried to break placards. The policedispersed the mob by resorting to a mild lathicharge.
