Convergence 2007

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) and Association of Biotechnology Led Enterprises (ABLE) will jointly organise `Convergence 2007', a two-day national conference on "Public-Private Partnerships to Promote Responsible Agri-biotechnology in India" on April 12 and 13.

Key issues

The conference to be held on the TNAU premises will bring together all stakeholders in agricultural biotechnology for discussing key issues in the area.

M.K. Bhan, Secretary, Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, M.S. Swaminathan, Chairman of the National Commission on Farmers, N. Mahalingam, Chairman of Sakthi Group, Richard Broglie, Director of Global Research, DuPont Pioneer and C. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor of TNAU, will address the participants at the conference besides other resource persons.

The ABLE Award for Excellence in Agricultural Sciences will be given to a scientist of a private institution for his contribution in the area of crop improvement.
