dated April 9, 1957: Role of DMK

Mr. C.N. Annadurai, MLA and leader of the DMK party, said in Madras on April 7 that his party was having a novel experience in entering the legislature and working for public welfare through that channel. The appreciable manner in which the DMK had developed during the last few years, so as to be able to win the support of the masses, was clearly indicative of the path the organisation was following. Mr. Annadurai, who was addressing a meeting held to felicitate the DMK legislators, advised them to work with great caution in their activities in the legislature. He gave an assurance that they would work for the welfare of the people. Mr. R. Nedunchezhian, party general secretary, presided.
