Exam results on mobile phone for free

Special Correspondent

SIGN OF SUCCESS: Press a button and get the exam result.

HYDERABAD: Your mobile phone tinkles to alert you that there is an SMS? It could be the much-awaited examination result!

Suchinfotech, a city-based IT solution provider, has come up with the novel idea of sending examination results to students directly through an SMS, no matter who your service provider is. How much does it cost to use the service? Nothing, not even a pie. It's absolutely free. The company launched a portal www.resultonmobile.com here on Sunday.

Registration

All that one needs to do is to register with the portal by filling the required fields, including name, examination appeared for, hall-ticket number, and a few related details.

Offline registration is also encouraged, in case of individuals and institutions.

Students can also register by sending details of their names, hall-ticket numbers and the examination through an SMS to 9949933333. The registration will be confirmed through an auto reply.

Soon after the announcement of results by the organisation concerned, the portal will upload the same and send results in text message to students individually. This year, SSC, Intermediate (I and II), degree examinations (all groups conducted by all universities), all common entrance tests (including EAMCET, LAWCET, EdCET, ICET, CEEP, etc) will be covered.

M. S. Raju, managing director, said efforts were being made to include announcement of examination results in Karnataka and Tamil Nadu also this year. It would be expanded to North India next year. What is the business model? For every 160 characters typed, a sponsoring company, which wished to advertise in this mode, would get 20 characters, he said.
