SANGAREDDY:
A mini van laden with cartons and allegedly missing from the residence of Sarasa Devi, the main accused in the DPEP (re-named Sarva Siksha Abhiyan) scam, was found abandoned by the Ramachandrapuram police on Monday.
According to Medak Superintendent of Police R.B.Naik, the Tempo traveller ( AP 09 Y 2626) was found adjacent to an open ground, near Jyothi High School in the BHEL township. The local residents grew suspicious on seeing the vehicle parked in the same place for the last three days and one of them, Krishnam Raju, lodged a complaint with the Ramachnadrpuram police. The police who noticed that the vehicle had sticker of "Saroos" the ad agency owned by Sarasa Devi, broke open the door in the presence of revenue officials and had the entire action video-recorded.
During the panchnama, the police found 61cartons of gift articles in the van. The consignment was sent in the name of Vijetha, daughter of N. Sarasadevi, a resident of BHEL township. The articles came from a Mumbai supplier.
