The students are kept under surveillance, Home Secretary Prasad Ranjan Roy said. Financial transactions of the PREPAK are being carried out from the city, it is apprehended.

Defence sources told The Hindu that raids were conducted in seven hideouts in the city, following the recent arrest of a self-styled captain and lieutenant of the outfit. The two were posing as university research students.

On April 7, two militants were arrested at the Imphal airport on alighting from an aircraft that made its departure here, the sources said.
