BANGALORE: Perhaps, attaching a motor to the good old bicycle was the fitness-starved Bangalorean's invitation to a rounded belly. With the latest motorbikes doing away with the kickstart (at least that was some exercise to some leg muscles), the city's motorcyclists are today pampered with the one-touch electric starters. They simply hop on to the bikes, switch on the electric buttons and join the big queue to office. Now with the bulge of the belly touching the petrol tanks, the motorcyclist with his thinking helmet on, has apparently turned nostalgic. Those were the days, he would remember, when cycling to office was so natural. Life was like one big exercise. And nobody even noticed it. As if to compensate, the motorcyclist now wants to build a future of proud bicyclists, minus the motor. So, he would hop and shop, scouting around for the funkiest bicycles in town. The big idea: impress the youngster back home, pamper him/her with a designer bicycle, talk about cycling as a recreational activity, a neat way to improve balance and coordination, confidence and agility.
