Easy win for Ernakulam

KOCHI: Host Ernakulam boys scored an impressive 45-6 win over Wayanad in the opening match of the 34th Airtel State sub-junior basketball championship at the Rajagiri floodlit stadium, Kalamassery, on Tuesday.

The results: Boys: Pool `A': Pathanamthitta 42 (Sarath 29, Ritto 10) bt Kozhikode 10.

Pool `D': Ernakulam 45 (Mathew Sebastian 18) bt Wayanad 6; Thrissur 45 bt Idukki 8.

Girls: Pool `A': Kottayam 28 (Feba Maria 10) bt Palakkad 2.
