DEHRA DUN: The Uttarakhand Government plans to develop two Ayurvedic colleges as centres of excellence so that the traditional knowledge of medicines could be upgraded to compete with modern medicine. Disclosing this here on Tuesday, Health Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank said Ayurved provides solutions to almost all problems. It needs good `vaids' who can diagnose the ailments and prescribe the right medicines as well as improve the common man's life through proper advice. The Uttarakhand Government will also establish homoeopathic hospitals in remote areas so that people could get effective low-cost treatment to combat ailments, Mr. Nishank said.
Decision welcomed
Welcoming the decision, All-India Ayurved Sammelan patron G. B. Joshi said the Government should popularise Ayurved as the swing medicine system and promote yoga from the primary level in all educational institutions.
