VIZIANAGARAM: Telugu Desam Party president N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked the district committee to give priority to youth in the party organisational elections that would be held from April 15. In a teleconference with the party leaders here on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu expressed satisfaction with the membership enrolment in the district and asked partymen to activate cadres from grass-root level to fight against the anti-people policies of the Government.
Dharna today
Stating that response from public to the party's protest demonstrations against the Government's policies were encouraging, the TDP president asked leaders to mobilise cadres and people for the scheduled `dharna' against SC ruling on OBC reservations at the Collectorate on Wednesday. Later, addressing partymen at the party office, G. Syam Sunder Sivaji, TDP State secretary, said that as the elected committees would have to face the elections-2009 the cadres must bring awareness among people about the Government's anti-people policies. He criticised Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for playing down the DPEP scam. K. KalaVenkata Rao, TDP deputy leader in the Assembly, said the Chief Minister had failed to deliver goods and the Government had no direction on various issues concerning the people. The severe power shortage was an ample example of the Government's mishandling of the situation, he added. TDP Polit Bureau member P. Asok Gajapathi Raju, party leaders M. Sundaram Patrudu and Chikkala Rama Chandra Rao, and others were present.
