BHUBANESWAR: The Orissa's Tribes Advisory Council (TAC) on Tuesday unanimously passed a resolution urging Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to impress upon Centre to scrap the Polavaram Multipurpose Project proposed by Andhra Pradesh Government across the Godavari. The TAC, comprising of prominent tribal legislators, Member of Parliament and tribal leaders, expressed concern that the back water of Polavaram project would submerge large areas which were under occupation of tribals in Malkanagiri district of the state. Water Resource Secretary Arabinda Behera gave a presentation of submergence to be caused. Mr. Patnaik assured that he would soon write to Centre intimating the resolution of the TAC.
